Procrastination is my friend

Piles of assignments waiting for me to complete. Just had my first dose of vaccination yesterday. Still feeling some mild side effects. Deadlines for the assignments are near. Yet, I’m here trying to write something. Maybe it’s my brain trying to procrastinate by telling me: “Yea man, you should definitely write something right now! Here, some ideas for you.” Maybe we human create something when we do not feel like doing the one thing we should be doing.

I like to think humans are weird. We do things that we are not supposed to do and then stressed ourself out because the things we need to do are not yet done. This might sound absurd to you but it happens more than you can imagine.

So how do we find a balance between our responsibilities and the things we do to ‘waste’ our time? I quoted the word ‘waste’ because I don’t actually think it is a waste of time. On the contrary, the time we wasted actually may make us more productive. When I was still an undergraduate, I used to binge watch seasons of Friends, The Big Bang Theory, and HIMYM when I was working on my assignments or studying to finals. The binge watching actually made me more motivated to work or study. Not sure if this method works for you, but it helped me graduated on time.

So, what now? Back to burying my head in the assignments? Or shall I stay with my friend here a little longer?
